1. Introduction to 802.11n standard
IEEE 802.11n uses 2.4GHz frequency band and 5GHz frequency band. 802.11n mainly combines the optimization of the physical layer and the MAC layer to fully improve the throughput of WLAN technology. The main physical layer technology involves MIMO, MIMO-OFDM, 40MHz bundling, Short GI and other technologies, thereby increasing the physical layer throughput to 600Mbps. However, if you only increase the rate of the physical layer without optimizing the MAC protocol layers such as air interface access, the physical layer optimization of 802.11n will not be able to play. Therefore, 802.11n adopts technologies such as Block confirmation and frame aggregation for MAC, which greatly improves the efficiency of the MAC layer.
