WiFi Test Tips 14: Introduction to True MIMO Connection
-
Introduction to True MIMO:
True MIMO is one of the current mainstream WLAN three MIMO test schemes. True MOMO supports both TX and RX tests of DUT, and can complete all index tests of TX and RX. It is suitable for production and R&D scenarios of DUT products. This test scheme has no special requirements for the TX transmission mode of the DUT, and is compatible with continuous transmission and specified number of transmission modes. In True MIMO testing, each stream signal needs to be processed and analyzed by multiple test instruments, so the trigger synchronization and clock synchronization between multiple instruments need to be processed during the test.
Instrument wiring mode:
When using the True MIMO function of the WT-200 series test instrument of Xtreme Instrument, the user needs to change the wiring method of the instrument.
The connection method of the back panel of the instrument is shown in Figure 1 below. Use the BNC cable and BNC tee to connect the TRIG1 interface of each tester in series, the TRIG2 interface in series, and the CLK IN interface to the CLK OUT interface.
Note: Between different testers, the TRIG1 interface is only connected to the TRIG1 interface, the TRIG2 interface is only connected to the TRIG2 interface, and the CLK IN interface is only connected to the CLKOUT interface.
